Managing habitat

This mapping tool is designed to indicate whether your property, with proper management, has the potential to provide habitat for black-capped vireos, and if so, where the best areas to manage for vireos are located.  Additionally, the tool provides data regarding locations of bobwhite quail and wild turkeys in the last 10 years in order for landowners to visualize how nearby their property these species have been noted to exist.  Since bobwhite quail and wild turkeys do not spend time in the air on migration, they rely on walking and short flight in order to disperse into new areas.  Therefore, if these species already exist in your area, there is a greater chance that these species would find habitat if it were created for them.
